Bjorn Gor alloy stem
user's manual
Please read this Technical instruction carefully, and save this link for later reference. These instructions will help you install your Gor stem correctly and use it for a long time.
Manufacturer's Installation Recommendations:
Always adhere strictly to the installation recommendations provided by the manufacturer. Deviating from these guidelines may result in improper installation and compromise the performance and safety of the Bjorn Gor stem.

Assembly Paste Recommendations
  • When installing the stem on a carbon steerer tube, it is recommended to use assembly paste specifically designed for carbon components.
  • When installing the stem on an aluminum steerer tube, use anti-seize assembly paste.
  • When installing a carbon handlebar, apply carbon assembly paste to the clamping area to prevent slipping and reduce the risk of damage.

Installing on the Steerer Tube
  • Ensure the headset is properly assembled and all required components are installed.
  • Install the stem onto the steerer tube.

Recommendations for Carbon Steerer Tubes
  • For safe and reliable use with carbon steerer tubes, we recommend that the steerer tube with the installed compression plug extends at least 3 mm above the top edge of the stem.
  • This is necessary for proper and secure clamping of the stem on the steerer. If the steerer is positioned too deep inside the stem, it may lead to localized deformation of the steerer wall and the stem clamp, causing excessive stress on the upper bolt and possibly leading to bolt failure.

Top Cap Installation and Preload Adjustment
  • Install the top cap over the spacer and tighten the bolt according to the headset manufacturer's instructions.
  • If no value is specified, a torque of 1–1.5 Nm is recommended, the fork should rotate freely without play.
Installing the Handlebar
  1. Insert the handlebar into the front clamp area of the stem.
  2. Install clamps.
  3. Tighten the upper bolts by hand until they stop, without applying torque
  4. Loosen the upper bolts by a quarter turn
  5. The clamp plates must be installed with zero gap at the top, the upper edge of the plate should sit flush with the stem body.
  6. Adjust the handlebar to the desired position (centered and at the correct angle)
  7. Tighten the lower bolts to 5 Nm.
  8. Then tighten the upper bolts to 5 Nm.

Tightening the Steerer Clamp Bolts
  • Tighten the two clamp bolts that fix the stem to the steerer tube with a torque not exceeding 5 Nm.
  • Tighten gradually and evenly in several steps using a torque wrench.

Final Check
Ensure the handlebar is properly aligned and securely fixed.
All bolts must be torqued according to specification using a torque wrench.

Remember that proper care, adherence to installation guidelines, and regular checks contribute to the longevity and optimal performance of your Gor stem. If in doubt or if you encounter any issues, contact the manufacturer for professional assistance.
