Manufacturer's Installation Recommendations: Always adhere strictly to the installation recommendations provided by the manufacturer. Deviating from these guidelines may result in improper installation and compromise the performance and safety of the Setka saddle.
Setting up the horizontal position: To set the saddle to the horizontal position, place a book or any other flat object on the saddle and use the water pass.
Torque Values: Comply with the torque values specified by the seat post manufacturer when tightening the saddle. Over-tightening may lead to damage, while insufficient torque might cause the saddle to shift during use. Always follow the recommended values for a secure and safe installation. If you have the Glagol seat post, please follow this
link.
Seatpost Compatibility: Select a compatible seatpost for use with the Kort saddle, preferably one with carbon-tight fittings. Avoid using metal fittings with sharp edges, especially from ENVE and Pinarello, as they can cut carbon rails like a guillotine because of different material hardness.
All edges of the clamping plates must be rounded with a radius of at least 1 mm to prevent localized stress points and material damage. A larger contact area between the rails and the seatpost is preferable for better stability and safety. Check if you have proper seatpost fittings for oval rails in case your seatpost uses side clamping system.
Damaged Saddle Repair: Never attempt to repair a damaged Kort saddle on your own. All repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer, and any damaged saddle should be accompanied by the purchase invoice. DIY repairs may compromise the structural integrity of the saddle, leading to potential safety hazards.
Cleaning Instructions: Clean the saddle with water, using a bicycle pressure washer is not prohibited. Ensure that the water pressure is suitable for cleaning without causing damage to the saddle's cellular structure.
Solvent Warning: Never use any type of solvent when cleaning the Setka saddle. The polyurethane 3d printed pad is designed for normal wear and tear and solar radiation. Solvents such as acetone, thinner, or gasoline can damage the material. Before applying chamois creme or balsam carefully check its contents to ensure it does not contain acids or spirits.
Chamois Cream and Pad Protection: Do not use chamois creams, balsams, or body lotions in contact with the Setka saddle. These products contain natural alcohols, acids, and hydrocarbons that act as chemical solvents for polyurethane. During riding, body heat and continuous friction cause cream residue to migrate to the pad surface, where elevated temperatures and mechanical compression accelerate severe material degradation. This process leads to rapid surface polishing, softening, structural breakdown, and complete loss of pad integrity. Using chamois products with this saddle is incompatible with normal use and
will void your warranty. If you have specific comfort concerns, consult us before applying any external products to the saddle or your skin in contact with it.
Remember that proper care, adherence to installation guidelines, and regular checks contribute to the longevity and optimal performance of your Setka saddle. If in doubt or if you encounter any issues, contact the manufacturer for professional assistance.
